Colorado State Credit

As a Colorado taxpayer you could be eligible for a state tax credit of up to $5,000 with the purchase or lease of a qualifying new EV*. Part of the qualification is signing the contract on or after July 1, 2023 and the MSRP of that vehicle has to be under $80,000. Also, for those who lease instead of purchase, the lease contract has to be at least two years. Effective January 1, 2024 Colorado residents are also eligible for an additional $2,500 tax credit*. Federal Credit

There are also clean vehicle income tax credits on a federal level currently available. Select new EV or PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid) models purchased in 2023 or later may qualify for a credit up to $7,500*. The amount of credit is based on several factors, including the amount of kilowatt battery capacity, the date it was placed in service, battery component, and critical mineral sourcing. In order to qualify the vehicle must also be assembled here in North America and have an MSRP of under $80,000. Pre-owned EV or PHEV may qualify for a credit of up to $4,000*.
